One of the most anticipated films of 2009, Watchmen, has been eagerly awaited by fans of the comic book for months now. It opens this weekend in cinemas around the world. Parody Trailer: What if Zack Snyder Made 'WALL-E'?
RopeofSilicon.com —
YouTube user "TM2Megatron" has put together a fan trailer for WALL-E using the audio from the teaser trailer for Watchmen and it is truly inspired. The use of slow-motion and appropraite scenes duplicating the mood from the original Watchmen trailer is spot on accurate.
On the accompanying YouTube page he gives the following note for the release:
In anticipation of the upcoming release of Watchmen, I decided to take a crack at what many have done for other films; and set the audio from Watchmen's epic IMAX teaser to scenes from one of my favourite films of all time. So sit back, and enoy WALL-E redone in Watchmen's ...
Check This Out: Watchmen and Wall-E Mashup Video
FirstShowing.net —
I know that we are pretty much done talking about Watchmen for the moment, but this is just cool, and I wish I would've seen it earlier in the year before Watchmen had hit theaters. I'm not normally a fan of most YouTube trailer mashups, but this one featuring Wall-E visuals and the ...
If WALL-E were Watchmen…
Row Three —
T railer mash-ups come in all varying levels of quality, but this is one of the best ones I’ve seen recently. YouTube user TM2Megatron decided to edit together footage from Wall-E with the audio from one of the Watchmen trailers, and came up with a dystopian version of Pixar’s creation that I sorta really want to see now. Editing these things isn’t a simple matter, and to do it as well as TM2Megatron has done…color me impressed. Do you have any favorite trailer mashups, or otherwise creatively edited film homages? Two Fan Shorts Of Note
TheBadandUgly.com —
Somedays, the internet gives you multiple videos that can be labeled “Brief Absurdity” vids, and sometimes those videos relate to each other. These two don’t, with the exception of one thing: they both are evidence of film fans taking their fandom into the world of production instead of taking it to the message board.
I don’t have a lot of time, and the person who was supposed to give me a copy of Final Cut hasn’t come through, so - to me - these two fan videos are exemplary. Above, Iron Man fights Bruce Lee by filmmaker Patrick Bolvin from Canada and ...
Who’s watching the Wall-E?

Oh I do so love this mash-up. As the swell folks at Film School Rejects wisely point out, it’s a far better effort than simply matching audio from Movie A to the trailer of Movie B. The creator here truly puts feeling and meaning to this, draws parallels between the movies’ themes, is drawing a compelling analogy, etc. What a terrific piece.
For Michael Bay, today is a totally great day to be Michael Bay.

Apologies, readers and other friends of Burbanked . I haven’t been around these parts much lately. Let me explain why. Several months ago, my boss and I had a discussion about the company, the economy, and the overall outlook for the future. The bottom line was that my position was going to be eliminated. I’ve been given the time to look for a new job, and I’ve been doing exactly that, every single night, ever since. In the meantime, Burbanked has been unhappily left behind to crumble down all around us. 2good + 2be = 4gotten Burbanked has always been my fun site. My movie-and-writing treat that I allowed myself at the end of the day. My interaction with you, the ...

The one where I update for anyone who still hangs around here, caring about such things, with the news that I did get a new job.
Burbanked —
see? everyone hates michael bay movies I figured, because my last post was filled so completely with doom and gloom, that it might be a good idea to go ahead and provide an update to my job search status for anyone still lingering around these parts who happens to 1) not have heard about this otherwise, 2) still gives a hang and 3) really, really is too involved in knowing things about me. I did, in fact, get a new job in mid-September. Familial tragedy has been averted and all seems right with the world again. I’m like a young kid on a bright new career adventure, discovering the big, wonderful world around me for the first time! *cue the inspirational music* ...
