Last week the first footage from Sam Mendes’ latest film, Revolutionary Road, popped online in the form of an Entertainment Tonight preview, complete with annoying voice over from Mary Hart. Thankfully, the full trailer is now online, and is worth checking out. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as a young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s. They struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children.

Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet’s Revolutionary Road
Reel Suave —
The plot focuses on the hopes and aspirations of Frank and April Wheeler, self assured Connecticut suburbanites who see themselves as very different from their neighbors in the Revolutionary Hills Estates. April is an aspiring actress and dreams of one day moving to Paris to see a better life. Her husband Frank who initially shares such dreams has decided to thwart everything and submerge himself into the monotony of the daily life. He despises everything and begins to drink heavily and engages in an affair with a co worker. Their marriage slowly dissolves into a cycle of bitter arguments and jealous recrimination. ...

Film Experience Blog —
I love the way Kate's voice sounds so flatly husky and small, Leonardo's too. The lines almost sound like they're numbed by suburbia, too much smoking and whisky. Or, more likely, Mad Men is just on my mind after its EMMY win (similar time period and marital dissatisfaction). Everything that's said between Leo & Kate here might be whispered between them, even if its uttered for us. I also enjoyed Kate running through the woods (eery memories of Heavenly Creatures, still one of her finest hours) and the ...
Revolutionary Road Could Be Titanic 2
TheBadandUgly.com —
Based on the novel by Richard Yates, Revolutionary Road tells the story of a young couple trying to find fulfillment in an age of conformity. Trapped in a world of encoded convention, they dream without faith, as lies and self-deceptions build to explosive consequences.
Or, as we like to sum it up: Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio act in a film for Sam Mendes about an alternate world where Jack didn’t freeze to death at the end of Titanic, and - despite the sweeping scope of their love for each other - realize that real life isn’t about sinking boats, but ...

THE DARK OF THE MATINEE —
There's a lot to like about the looks of this movie: Kate & Leo acting together again, Sam Mendes back behind the camera, some beautiful photography, lots of guys wearing hats... ...but while I understand it's based on a book of the same name, couldn't they have come up with a better title? I'm already getting this ...
Trailer for ‘Revolutionary Road’…
We Are Movie Geeks —
‘Revolutionary Road’ is a new Oscar-hopeful drama with two reunions. First, it’s director Sam Mendes’ first film since ‘Jarhead’ (2005) and secondly, its the first time Leo and Kate have worked together since ‘Titanic’. The trailer makes the film look good, but I’m not sure if it’s “Oscar good”.
Plot Synopsis: A young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children. Based on a novel ...
