I have never met anyone who loves George Lucas, but over my lifetime I’ve met countless Star Wars fanatics that blame him for ruining everything. It’s kinda weird, that there is a hatred towards someone who created a universe that is loved by so many. It’s kinda crazy if you really think about it. What happened? How did this happen? There is obviously much more to this story beyond Jar Jar and a bunch of Ewoks.

I'm quoted here -- look around the 0:20 mark -- and I can't help thinking that when this documentary is released next year, some critics will try to read something into the fact that, if you look over my left shoulder, you'll see a photo of Francis Coppola. Trust me: It's just because the Starz Denver Film Festival folks very graciously arranged for the filmmakers to shoot an interview with me in a room at the Starz Film Center. Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar.

With films like Fanboys being fueled entirely by the shared enthusiasm for the Star Wars franchise, the real life fanboys are now rallying around fanboys. It is a beautiful union even if it is a divided one.
So when International Friend Phil3000 tipped me off to this documentary I was more than excited. I love how both sides are presented here and an honest look at the Star Wars fandom is on its way.
The most impacting line I got from this trailer is this: The hatred that people claim they have for the new films proves how profoundly they love them.
