How about The Muppets Wizard of Oz ? Let me give you a clue to its quality: Ashanti starred in it. Yet, these subpar flicks could never take away from the genius that is The Muppet Show and The Muppet Movie . I guess The Muppets are a lot like Weezer. But lately, there have been indicators that suggest that Jim Hensons crew may once again grace us with quality entertainment. Judd Apatow alumni Jason Segal is penning a script for a new flick entitled The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever ...

D uring the past year, the folks behind The Muppets have been putting together videos and uploading them online in what I can only imagine is with hope of renewing interest in the furry puppets and building anticipation for the upcoming in-the-works Muppet movie, that has Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Jason Segel actively involved in the writing (and, as most assume, he”’ have an acting role as well). Here is the latest video in their endeavors: a Muppet-ized version of Queen’s classic Bohemian Rhapsody. Enjoy!

Do you know that the Muppets have an official Youtube account? A year ago a bunch of music videos featuring the various cast members popped up out of nowhere, fun stuff like Beaker singing his heart out on the Habanera and Gonzo performing "The Blue Danube Waltz" with his lady chickens. Now it has all culminated in the most incredible rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody you've ever witnessed. It's easily the best thing you'll see this week, and yes I realize that it's Thanksgiving. Something I have been itching for lately is a new Muppet Movie, and while one is some Muppet fun is on its way and now this tribute to Queen is out and its made of awesome.
Queen is releasing a new album and this tribute video was made to celebrate its release. And I am excited about a new Queen release, but this just makes me want to see more Muppets.

Ok , in blog years, this might be ancient, is started making the rounds yesterday afternoon and we never had a chance to see it until late last night, but the Muppets doing Queen 's "Bohemian Rhapsody"? We thought, "sure, this could be fun" and set it aside, but it's joyous, celebratory genius. Something good to watch before you jet off for Thanksgiving. We seriously grinned ear to ear watching this clip (the lighting is also soo perfect). Oh and lastly the best Muppets of all time? Predictable answer coming from us, but yes, it's always been Statler and Waldorf .

There are times in this busy world when I forget just how cool The Muppets are. Randomly mention the beastly little guys and gals, and I'll smile politely, vaguely remembering the good old days. Put them in front of me, however, and it's a challenge to not let out a real world, ear-breaking shriek of squee. I don't care how long they've been around -- The Muppets are cool, and they are no cooler than when they're delighting in the epic grandeur of rhapsody ... Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," that is.

I can tell you that there were 16 finalists, and only 10 make the final cut, so it was a real competition (although the original "Jack-Ass" movie, as much as I love it, was easily the first finalist to go.) ...
