Falling Back
Sex In A Submarine —
Instead of daylights savings, can we add a couple more hours to every day? I have too many things to do all at once. I thought gaining that one hour might help, but now it's gone... I need two extra hours every single day! There was the Final Draft Big Break Awards, then Halloween, then the elections, then American Film Market (started Wednesday, ends Wednesday) and on Thursday I teach my first classes at Expo, which ends on Sunday, and then I have something else on my calender before Thanksgiving, and then Christmas and New Years... and I have a screenplay I’m writing! ...

New To Theatres This Weekend: Yes Man, Seven Pounds, The Tale of Despereaux
Film Junk —
Well we’re only a week away from Christmas and I have to say I’m not overly excited about the selection of movies in theatres right now. I know some people are happy to see Jim Carrey return to form with Yes Man, and Will Smith fans are no doubt intrigued by Seven Pounds, but come on — The Tale of Despereaux is one CG mouse movie too many. Your best bet is to try and catch The Wrestler which finally opens in four whole theatres this weekend, or Slumdog Millionaire which is finally closing in on a wide release. Are you planning on seeing anything this weekend?
Yes ...

The Screengrab —
What's that smell? Mmm...Awards Season!
Just hours ago, we posted the nominees for the Writer's Guild awards, and just a short while ago, Director's Guild Vice President Taylor Hackford walked up to some podium or another and said, "A film is a collaboration, but it is the director's energy and vision that brings the elements of script, performance and production into a satisfying totality. Today's nominees demonstrate how vision, combined with skill and talent, creates magic on the screen. What makes this award truly meaningful to directors is the knowledge that only this award is decided solely by their peers – the men ...
2008 RacsO Year in Review: Why-Is-There-Love-For-Them?
RacsO Ledger —
When I was making this list it was no wonder that most of the titles in this list are Oscar best picture contenders. Not to bring them down or something but sometimes I just question the fact that many loved them. Changeling and Gran Torino (both directed by Clint Eastwood) People Love it Because: It was made by Oscar favorite Clint Eastwood. Changeling showcased Angelina Jolie who seems to be on the road to Oscar and we all know that Jolie is such a beloved celebrity. Gran Torino brought Eastwood back in front of the camera and it kinda reminded ...
