Steven Spielberg is finally moving toward a project worthy of his skills (who the hell is asking for the Tintin trilogy?), with Will Smith set to be his star.
They are both in early discussions to collaborate on a remake of the 2003 Korean masterpiece ‘Oldboy’. No writer is attached yet.
The original sees a man get kidnapped and held in a shabby cell for 15 years without explanation. Suddenly, he’s released and given money, a cell phone and clothes and set on a path to discover who destroyed his life so he can take revenge.

[image] We were just surmising this morning that the old reported remake of Park Chan-Wook' s Korean 2003 film, " Oldboy " by the odd pairing of Will Smith and Steven Spielberg appeared to be dead. Now today, according to the guys at Latino Review (we'll choose to believe this particular report mostly because we want to desperately), the brutal revenge remake is dead in the water.
