If you couldn’t get tickets for the 25 minute preview of James Cameron’s Avatar on Friday, don’t sweat it. An early version of the trailer has already leaked online, and to be honest, it doesn’t look all that amazing. Still, I suppose they’ve got a few months to smooth out the animation and put the finishing touches on the effects.

The first trailer for James Cameron’s upcoming sci-fi epic Avatar isn’t supposed to hit the web officially until Thursday morning. But that hasn’t stopped the denizens of the web from procuring something to bide their time. As if sitting online frustratedly trying to score tickets for IMAX previews on Avatar Day wasn’t enough.

The AVATAR trailer is also supposed to hit soon and since we're still a couple of days out at the very least I find it amusing that this trailer is out already. Now I've seen the Comic-Con footage and this trailer seems to be using earlier renders than what was shown in San Diego. What do you folks think? Gotcha! Cinematical hooked me up with this 90 second bootleg Avatar trailer loaded on youtube by Dave Chandler. See it while you can; it’s freaking gorgeous, especially near the end. All of James Cameron’s efforts towards inventing a new 3-D camera system are brilliantly on display in this clip.
