next summer. It was originally supposed to open on November 21st, and when it
moved to July, there was a domino effect that impacted the rest of the year,
with movies moving up, moving back, or if you're funded by the Weinsteins,
moving off the 2008 calendar completely.
The only thing that truly makes sense as that it was a
money move, and Warner Bros. looked ahead to July 19th, which is when the

Warner Bros has released an international trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood-Prince. The trailer’s voice-over claims that the film will come out “This Year” which leads me to believe that the trailer was created before the release date push to July 17th 2009. One thing is for sure, the marketing people at Warner Bros sure know how to cut a trailer. I don’t think I’ve seen a bad Potter trailer yet. Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I woke up late today and found a few emails waiting for me on this lazy Sunday alerting me to the International HARRY POTTER & THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE trailer. So I gave it a view and holy crap does it look good. The visual style and tone of the footage in the trailer seems right on and more than any other Potter book I'm anxious to see how David Yates executes HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, which is my favorite of the series. A new international trailer has surfaced online for Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.
The promo, which bears the voice-over “this year” (leading many to think it was either made before the release date swap or was intended to arrive next year), features some new footage, giving us more from Harry and co, as opposed to the Voldemort-focused teaser.
It still looks dark and action-packed, though it won’t help anyone still gutted by the date shift to control themselves. You can see the trailer below.

The previous teaser, which concentrated on Dumbledore’s conversations with a teenage Voldemort, was creepy and effective. This is much broader and more genetic. The voice over could pretty much apply to any of the films so far in the series. It’s not especially interesting.
