SCREAM 2008: Friday the 13th and Twilight Footage

The Watchmen footage is obviously the big deal, but I’m sure some of you are looking for the Friday the 13th and Twilight footage which premiered during Spike TV’s SCREAM 2008 Award broadcast tonight. The Friday the 13th footage doesn’t impress me too much. The sequence at the end with the mask, title card, and then a few split seconds of Jason charging at the woman with a machete are definitely the money shots. I’ve heard that a teaser trailer might be attached to SAW V this Friday.
And I really have no comment on the Twilight ...

Last night at the 2008 Scream Awards (what the hell are those?), which aired on Spike TV, Warner Bros. debuted a new 90 second clip from Watchmen . The footage is featured below. There is a version with an introduction by director Zack Snyder and stars Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino and Jeffrey Dean Morgan over at YouTube , but the one below is strictly the clip. It still features the Smashing Pumpkins track, "The End Is the Beginning Is the End", but includes some new footage. Watchmen hits theaters on March 6, 2009. There were also clips from Friday the 13th and Twilight , but suitable versions are not yet available ...

The Spike Scream Awards didn’t just include a new look at Watchmen, but also showed us a new clip from Platinum Dune’s Friday the 13th remake, set to hit theaters next February (a similar teaser might be attached to Saw V this weekend). Nothing about the footage is particularly special or exciting. The last two seconds might be the only worth-while moments of the entire clip. Most of it is spent with some really confusing cutting as some poor guy tries to investigate a mysterious shadow.
Note to self: If I’m ever at a summer camp in the woods with my girlfriend and we’ve already had sex: DON’T INVESTIGATE ...
