The first trailer for Tony Gilroy’s follow up to his critically acclaimed Michael Clayton, Duplicity, is now online. The film reunites Closer stars Julia Roberts and Clive Owen and also features Tom Wilkinson, Rick Worthy and Paul Giamatti.
Roberts and Owen play ex-spies turned-corporate operatives in the midst of a secret love affair. When they find themselves embroiled in a high-stakes espionage game, they discover the toughest part of the job is deciding how much to trust the one you love.

The first trailer for Tony Gilroy’s Duplicity has just turned up online, and no, unfortunately it’s not a sequel to Multiplicity starring Michael Keaton. What it is, is a comedic thriller of sorts, about two corporate spies (played by Clive Owen and Julia Roberts) working together to pull off the ultimate con job. Tony Gilroy previously wrote and directed Michael Clayton, and based on the strength of that movie alone I’ll definitely be checking this out. This looks like a cool romantic spy film involving a lot of snappy Julia banter. She’s an outstanding guest on Letterman, they have great back and forth exchanges. She is quick as a whip - and that will always increase someone’s stock on my charts.
Duplicity is set for launch March 20th 2009.

There have been loads of people waiting for the new film of Tony Gilroy after his much hyped Michael Clayton. The film Duplicity stars Clive Owen and Julia Roberts. The film also includes Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti. Tony Gilroy is known for his work on the Bourne Series. But his prowess as a director has yet to be proved.
Owen and Roberts play a pair of corporate spys who have fallen into a steamy relationship and devise the ultimate plan to rip off their respective employers. The companies are run by the talented Paul Giamatti and Tom Wilkinson. The trailer has really interesting energy. Owen seems to be at ease with his character in this movie. ...

Flim-Flammers The first locale in this recently posted trailer for Tony Gilroy 's Duplicity (Universal, 3.20.09) is the Pantheon in Rome, rendered in that familiar bleachy-hazy late afternoon light. A good place to be, sit, hang, reflect, etc. I was too lazy to read the script but now, queer as I am for this tourist haven, I really like this movie. Even if most of it takes place stateside. What am I saying? Nothing. Post-Thanksgiving Day crazies. There's just one problem with this opening scene -- Julia Roberts wearing shades.
