A Trailer That Sums Up Coraline
TheBadandUgly.com —
Having read the book and seen some (regrettably 2D) scenes from the film, this trailer sums up the overall attitude of the film and the story. If Harry Knowles is to be believed, this is also Director Henry Selick’s favorite trailer for his own film.
Only one more week to wait.

New Trailer for CORALINE... at last! One that gives you the feeling of the film!
Ain't It Cool News - The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news. —
Hey folks, Harry here... This is actually Henry Selick's personal favorite trailer for CORALINE. And I can see why. It is a trailer that shows the creepiness and the joy of the film. Before our screening in Austin, he looked out at the audience and said that this was a film from "Brave Boys & Girls" - and that's exactly right. In addition, from my screening I received a letter from one reader that said she has reverted to 5 years old for the rest of the week. This is a film to take the wonderfully strange girl in your life to. And girls.. across the board, this one is for you. That said, almost all of my guy friends loved it as well. Check this trailer ...

New Coraline Trailer Online
The Movie Blog —
The new trailer for the 3d stop motion adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Coraline is on the net.
Latino Review describes it:
Coraline Jones (Dakota Fanning) is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door and discovers an alternate version of her life on the other side. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life and the people in it – only much better. But when this seemingly perfect world turns dangerous, and her other parents (including her Other Mother voiced by Teri Hatcher) try to trap her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to ...
Everybody Loves Gaiman
The Moviegoer —
“Ah, the terrific, wonderful, magical, delightful thrill of being scared!” Neil Gaiman is describing the experience of seeing the 1939 MGM version of The Wizard of Oz when he was five years old, and hiding beneath his seat whenever the Wicked Witch of the West came onscreen. A new generation of young moviegoers may experience that same sensation when they see Coraline, writer/director Henry Selick’s new animated film version of Gaiman’s award-winning children’s novel. The Wicked Witch of the West is plenty scary, but she has nothing on The Other Mother, the spidery maternal figure who lures the film’s young ...
Button Eyes
Hollywood Elsewhere —
Button Eyes Henry Selig 's Coraline (Focus Features, 2.6), a visually dazzling 3D animated children's film, is about a young girl who feels bored and listless and neglected by her parents and longs, as many kids do, for a better, more lustrous life. She finds one in an ultra-magical fantasy realm that she one day disappears into, Being John Malkovich -style, by crawling through a trap door and then through a long psychedelic tunnel. Sensually delightful and too good to be true at first, Coraline's fantasy world eventually, of course, turns out to be nightmare. (It reminded me of an old Twilight Zone episode starring Larry Blyden as a thief who gets shot and ostensibly ...
Coraline: Selick Gets Gaiman Right
Thompson On Hollywood —
Neil Gaiman's original 2002 story is as old as the hills, from The Secret Garden to Pan's Labyrinth: lonely kid in old house finds fantasy world through keyhole. Coraline has a sinister edge, though.
Long-time Tim Burton collaborator Henry Selick (here's my feature on James and the Giant Peach) adds ecstatic visual ...

Film Experience Blog —
The Oscar films expanded last week (and in some cases -- *cough* Milk ??? -- they're already constricting again. Hope you caught them during those seven days you were allowed to see them!) so it's strictly new releases for February. Links go to trailers... L I M I T E D Fanboys Odd that this comedy, about a group of Star Wars fanboys (and fangirl Veronica Mars Kristen Bell, left) storming George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch would come out the day it's target audience is hitting the Comic Con. (Methinks the target audience will be too busy wearing their ...
