Oh, What A Year...
Hollywood Elsewhere —
Oh, What A Year... A sweeping summation of 2008 movies by Neoavant's Matt Shapiro . So many flying (or falling) bodies, so many explosions, so many people who got punched. Too much emphasis on Baz Luhrman 's Australia for my money, and nowhere near enough clips of Che . Last year Shapiro assembled a first-rate assemblage called " 2007: A Year for Drama ."

2008: Cinescape
TheBadandUgly.com —
Watching this retrospective video by Matt Shapiro makes me feel like maybe there is meaning in following the film world; waking up, drinking coffee and spending more time than needed staring at a screen, either being told stories or surfing the internet for stories behind those stories.
I think that makes a pretty good argument as to why this thing should exist.
Make the jump for a list of the films as they appear…

Watch This: 2008: The Cinescape
Cinematical —
Not sure if you folks remember, but at the end of 2007 a dude by the name of Matt Shapiro pieced together a couple of pretty cool videos (called 2007: A Year for Drama and 2007: A Year for Action) that were basically a well-edited montage of films from that year. Well, Shapiro is back again with another video chronicling 2008 called 2008: The Cinescape, and set to the tune of Hoppipola by Sigur Ros, the video takes a look back at all the movies we loved to watch and talk about and watch again throughout the year. This time around, however, Shapiro cuts out any and all pieces of dialogue and simply edits the images to the ...

Weird Web Wednesdays: Don’t Tase Me, Brolin
Film Junk —
Well folks, it’s been a few weeks but we’re finally getting caught up on all of the funny vids that we missed over the holidays. First and foremost though, check out the crazy footage that has surfaced of Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright being abused by some cops outside a Louisiana bar. It seems odd that this video should suddenly leak on the day that their charges have been dropped. Also this week on Weird Web Wednesday, a live action Thundercats movie becomes a reality, Robocop sells fried chicken in Korea, and a kid gets really excited about receiving a Nintendo Wii for Christmas. (Even more than a ...
