Sam Worthington goes back to the future
Total Film News —
Avatar's Sam Worthington is clearly not done with science fiction - he's attached to star in near-future tale The Last Days Of American Crime. The Minority Report-esque plot focuses on the US government's plan to covertly broadcast a signal that would make it impossible for anyone to commit a crime. It's been adapted from Rick Remender's comic book, which is ready to hit the shops as a miniseries next month. There's no word on who might direct the movie yet, but if Duncan Jones wasn't already busy on Source Code and trying to get Mute made, he'd have our vote. Or maybe they could convince Neill Blomkamp to ...

... is set to star in another science fiction film, and while that isn't exciting news on it's own, the plot of the film is. According to Variety the film looks to the not too distant future where the U.S. government is planning to secretly broadcast a signal that could just make it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit an unlawful act. Sounds like a good idea, what could possibly go wrong? The story is based on a comic book by Rick Remender by the same name as the film, The Last Days of American Crime. The video game Dark Void is set to be adapted into a film, except it's ...

Sam Worthington boards 'American Crime'
The Screening Log —
Sam Worthington is bagging a lot of movie deals out there at the moment, and the latest project he's attached to star in is "The Last Days of American Crime," based on Rick Remender's comicbook.
Variety says the story is set in the near future, when the U.S. government broadcasts a signal that makes it impossible for people to knowingly break the law. Sounds like an interesting sci-fi project.
No word yet on what Worthington's character will be like, but my guess is something goes wrong and he pretty much has to save everybody. Worthington recently starred in "Terminator: Salvation."
