Not So Merry Men: Nottingham, Wolfman Release Dates Pushed Back
At The Movies - Film News and Reviews — Grrrrr…. Variety reports that Universal has changed the release dates of its hopefully high-profile films The Wolfman and Nottingham. In the case of The Wolfman, things aren’t so bad–the film is being shifted from April 3rd to November 6th. This is ostensibly to give it a more prestigious opening, as well as more time in post-production, always a good thing for a film as CGI heavy as this one. Moving it to the fall, though, when big money and big award hopefuls open, shows that Universal must think it’s pretty good. Also, it just seems more autumnal. At least I ...

Release Date Changes: The Wolfman, Fast and Furious, and Nottingham
/Film — Universal Pictures has decided to shuffle next year’s movie slate. The Wolfman is being pushed back from April 3rd to November 6 2009, and Justin Lin’s Fast and Furious will be moving from it’s June 12th release to The Wolfman’s former April date. They have also moved Ridley Scott’s Nottingham back to a 2010 TBA slot, which was expected since the film isn’t set to go into production until February 2009 at earliest. Justin Lin’s Fast and Furious completed filming in June and will be ready much earlier ...

Mumblecore Goes to Hollywood. Trade Roughage 12/10/08
SpoutBlog — Jay and Mark Duplass are abandoning the mumblecore movement for Hollywood. And not only will they work with a bigger budget, they’ve also acquired an Apatow-appropriate cast featuring John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill and Marisa Tomei. The untitled comedy (formerly called Safety Man) will have us believe that Tomei actually birthed Hill and still looks as good as she does. Let the Mamma Mia! copycats come forward: New Line has bought the rights to the Off-Broadway musical Rock of Ages, which features a ton of 1980s rock anthems from bands like Journey, Twisted Sister, Foreigner, REO ...

Wolfman, Nottingham Get Delayed
Cinema Blend News — ... that Wolfman , the Benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins adaptation of the horror classic, was being pushed to a fall release date, instead of debuting April 3 as planned. Now Variety has made the news official, reporting that Wolfman will come out November 6 of next year. Universal did some other shuffling as well, pushing Ridley Scott's Nottingham project to 2010 and sending Fast and Furious to April 3, instead of June 12. Good move on both of those counts-- Nottingham Fast and Furious has a much better shot at snagging an audience in that springtime slot that ...
