Will Ferrell is looking to switch things up a little after some career disappointments - he's signed on to Dan Rush's indie comedy Everything Must go. In a change from his usual blockbuster comedy (well, it will be - first he has to finish up work on The Other Guys with Adam McKay), he's agreed to star in advert director Rush's first film. Based on a Raymond Carver short story, Rush has come up with a tale of a man who loses his job, is locked out of the house by his wife and has his belongings chucked on the front lawn. Based on a Raymond Carver short story, Ferrell plays a man who loses his job and gets locked out of the house by his wife. She deposits his belongings on the front lawn, and he spends the next four days trying to sell his possessions.
Dan Rush adapted the script and makes his directorial debut on the project which begins filming in March.

Will Ferrell is talented (if you doubt me, watch “Saturday Night Live: The Best of Will Ferrell”). He isn’t the wisest chooser of film roles, though. LAND OF THE LOST was mediocre at best.
