If you’re one of the people who were horrified by rumors that Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob in “Twilight,” might be replaced by another actor for the sequel, “New Moon,” well, you’re in luck. If you’re one of the people who was excited by rumors that Taylor Lautner might be replaced for “New Moon,” well, you’re out of luck. Variety reports that Lautner is indeed staying on for the follow-up to the teen vampire hit movie.

You've all heard the rumors about Taylor Lautner not being asked to return as Jacob Black in "New Moon," right?
Well, according to Variety, Lautner will be back for the sequel to last year's success hit "Twilight."
I have not read Stephenie Meyer's novels, but I'm told that Jacob guy plays a central figure in "New Moon."
Lautner joins the already cast Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Chris Weitz is directing the flick for Summit Entertainment.

Taylor Lautner will be back in Twilight sequel New Moon to reprise his role as Jacob Black. According to Variety the Jacob Black character becomes a central figure in the plot as Bella Swan is drawn into the world of the werewolves. Weitz noted there has been speculation about whether Lautner could portray the character who goes through many changes physically, including growing taller and bulkier and aging 10 years.
