[image] Finally, we have a new look at SHERLOCK HOLMES in a new trailer from MTV. I could only watch the first one, however awesome it was, so many times before I wanted more, and I would say that this trailer is about 60% new footage we haven t seen before, and has me just as excited as the first. At this point, after watching lackluster work like REVOLVER and ROCKNROLLA, I didn t really think Guy Ritchie had a movie like this in him, but he s been greatly aided by Downey Jr. and Jude Law here, who are creating characters that are already memorable, despite that only about four minutes of footage from the film has actually been released. ...

I'm sure a Sherlock Holmes scholar out there will tell me that Holmes and Watson did, in fact, participate in playful roughhousing and roommate pranks, but it still doesn't sit well with me in the trailer for Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes . I got a sense I was watching something akin to Alan Moore’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen – the scale, the dirt and the violence, crossed with Steven Sommers’ The Mummy when watching this.
