Lex Luthor Not In Next Superman Movie?
Cinema Blend News — Lex Luthor Not In Next Superman Movie? Is Kevin Spacey too busy running his theater over in London to come back to fight Superman? Or has Warner Bros. decided that bald villains are just out this season? Either way, Latino Review is floating the rumor that Lex Luthor won't be part of the next Superman movie, which they swear really will happen one of these days. Apparently one of the villains from the rogue's gallery might take the lead, be it Doomsday, Brainiac, or any of the other baddies that most Americans aren't particularly familiar with. And while this may thrill ...

Thankfully, Next Superman Villain Won’t Be Lex Luthor
Film Junk — ... According to Latino Review, the WB is currently taking pitches from writers, and they are specifically looking for another one of Superman’s enemies to take center stage. There is no word yet on who that might be, but I definitely think this is a good news. In order to create a movie with some kick ass action and the possibility of suspense, Superman requires a powerful otherworldly adversary, not just a really smart businessman and/or scientist. Besides, Luthor has been given plenty of screen time, and I’m sure I’m not the only one dying for ...

Newsbites: The sequels and prequels edition!
FilmChat — 1. Disney is making a prequel to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) that will tell the story of how Captain Nemo created his warship, the Nautilus. Supposedly, this will be a "family film", though I'm not sure what sort of "family film" could have Nemo as its main character; in the original film, it was not James Mason's revenge-seeking captain that we were supposed to identify with primarily, but the Paul Lukas, Peter Lorre and Kirk Douglas characters who were almost killed by him. The new film will be written by Bill Marsilli (Deja Vu) and directed by McG (Terminator: Salvation). -- ...

New villain for Superman: Man Of Steel
Total Film News — ... the main baddie - WB execs want to pluck a super-cool supervillain from Supes' rogues gallery. Which is exciting news. As much as we liked Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns, we'd much rather see a super-powered scrap between Supes and Doomsday (who you can see in the gallery to your right), Darkseid or a young General Zod. Or, you know, all three. That would pretty much be the best film ever. But which villain would you like to see Superman punch in the face? Tell us below! [Source: Latino Review ]

Is Lex Luthor Out Of The Next “Superman” Movie?
Hollywoodtuna — When Superman returns… again, it may not be with Kevin Spacey, according to LatinoReview. Apparently Warner Bros. is actively listening to writers’ takes on a new Superman movie, and while they “haven’t heard anything they like yet… the kicker is that WB wants a NEW VILLAIN from Superman’s Rogues Gallery to be the main antagonist…NOT LEX LUTHOR!” So if not Luthor, then who? Brandon Routh threw his support behind Brainiac not too long ago, but if the WB is committed to taking Superman “dark” with their new villain (and ...
