This weekend, there is a clear leader for the box office crown and yes, surprise surprise, it’s an animated sequel. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa should have no trouble taking the #1 spot, largely due to it opening on over 4,000 screens, a full thousand more than the next biggest new release. That will likely translate to an easy $40+ million opening, but it doesn’t mean you have to show it any love. A Pixar-like crossover hit this ain’t.
