This role could be different from the one that had Jessica Biel as the front runner, but then again, that was just a rumor. It did include the caveat that the role would not be Jane Foster, so perhaps there's still a chance Biel winds up in the Asgard ...

It was recently announced that newcomer Chris Hemsworth would be playing Thor, and we now know that Natalie Portman will be playing his love interest.
I don't know anything about the Thor comics, but the cast is starting to look really great and with Kenneth Branagh directing, this is shaping up to be a pretty exciting movie.
Thor will be released to theaters on May 20, 2011.
