In news that probably should have gone with the production of ‘Spider-Man 4′, Evan Rachel Wood confirmed to IESB that she would be playing the part of Peter Parker’s love, Mary Jane Watson, in the Broadway production of ‘Spider-Man’. While doing a junket for ‘The Wrestler’, Wood said that she had been cast and that rehearsals start in June of 2009.
As for the role of Parker/Spider-Man, Marvel Entertainment has been trying to land Jim Sturgess (’Across the Universe’) for quite some time. Wood said they are “still trying to convince him.”
