The Farrelly Brothers Find A Studio And A Release Date For Their Three Stooges Movie!
Ain't It Cool News - The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news. —
Beaks here... Seven years after Ain't It Cool's first story on the matter, Variety is reporting that Peter and Bobby Farrelly are finally set to make their big-screen Three Stooges movie. Though the film spent five years in development at Warner Brothers, the project has now moved on to MGM, which has also announced a November 20, 2009 release date just to let you know they're serious about making this fucker. As for whether someone like Benicio Del Toro is still interested in playing Moe , I guess we'll just have to wait and see. A year ago, the Farrellys were talking about doing a traditional-feeling Stooges ...

Farrellys Get Another Shot At Three Stooges The Farrelly Brothers are making a 3 Stooges movie
again. This is an idea theyve been kicking around for years now, and its never really gone anywhere. Variety says that MGM has re-revived the idea and now theyre at it again. This time, it may actually happen. Unlike Warner Bros, the last place they tried to make it happen, MGM doesnt have much else going on. Theyve even set a release date for it, just to show the world how serious they are. Theyve staked out November 20, 2009 as their place to put a pie in your face. I forsee only one problem here, and its this: The Farrelly Brothers are no ...

... . I have actually added and removed this film from the RopeofSilicon database twice and have now added it for the third time, but this time it comes with not only a studio but a release date as well, but no Crowe as Moe, which is the rumor I was talking about. Variety reports MGM is willing to put up the cash to give Pete 'n' Bob the chance to bring the Stooges to the big screen (because everyone has been begging for it) and have set the film for a November 20, 2009 release putting the film up against ...
Farrelly Brothers Rebooting 'The Three Stooges'
Get The Big Picture —
Peter and
Bobby Farrelly
finally have a studio commitment for one of their dream projects. The brothers
will write and direct
The Three Stooges, which is more or less what
you think it is.
"It’s not a biopic. It takes place in present day, and they look, dress and
sound exactly like the Stooges," Peter Farrelly told
Variety. So yes, it's a brand new set of
Stooges, but it'll still be Larry, Moe, and Curly, and according to Farrelly,
the movie will be structured like the old Stooges short films, with three ...

While you might think that the end of the Howard brothers would mean the end of the Three Stooges, Variety reports that Peter and Bobby Farrelly are bringing the Stooges to the new millennium. After years of trying at Warner Bros., the brothers turned to MGM -- a studio that has not only welcomed the idea, but also picked out a release date already. Should the film get cooking soon, Three Stooges will be released opposite Sherlock Holmes on November 20, 2009. They must really love the idea to pit it against Robert Downey Jr. ...
Election Day Stooges: Trade Roughage 11/04/08

Is it possible to concentrate on ANYTHING other than the election today? Does that not make today the perfect day for MGM to announce that they’re letting the Farrelly Brothers make a Three Stooges movie?
Meanwhile, Variety has a rundown of what various famous people are up to today. MagiC Johnson lent his voice to a No on Prop 8 robocall, Hollywood Republicans (they exist!) are meeting up at Barney’s Beanery, and Harvey Weinstein is throwing a party in New York (no, we were not invited).

Morning Deal Report: We Can't Stop the Three Stooges Revival
The Screengrab —
The Farrelly brothers are doing their best to ensure that we never go to the movies again. Last week we reported their involvement in the farting dog movie. Now Variety reports that Bobby and Peter Farrelly “will renew their quest to channel the comic mayhem of the Three Stooges into a contemporary comedy.” If visions of Michael Chiklis as Curly are dancing (and slapping) in your head, Peter Farrelly would like to reassure you. “"It’s not a biopic. It takes place in present day, and they look, dress and sound exactly like the Stooges…When the economy started turning, we felt like the world could use a ...

Ouch.
Variety reports that the Bobby and Peter Farrelly are set to make their long-awaited Three Stooges movie. The comedic brothers have been working on the script for five years at Warner Brothers but now have a new home for it at MGM. They have a real live release date and everything, November 20, 2009, so it looks like it’s going to happen.
Let’s let Peter Farrelly himself explain the plan:
“It’s not a biopic. It takes place in present day, and they look, dress and sound exactly like the Stooges. When the economy started turning, we felt like the world could ...

In Times Like These, We Need a 'Three Stooges' Movie
I Watch Stuff - The Best Movie News Ever —
World economies are failing, stock markets are plummeting, bank systems are collapsing in on themselves, and the government is either too corrupt or too inept to do anything about it. So today, on Election Day, I'm going to take this opportunity to get on my soapbox here and say something I think is of dire importance: what this nation--no, this world--needs is modern actors doing impressions of the Three Stooges in a feature-length family comedy. From Variety: ...
