Our compadres over at Slashfilm have posted a few new set photos from the upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass. The film, which is being directed by Matthew Vaughn (Stardust, Layer Cake), is currently shooting in Toronto, Ontario. The film will star Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Superbad’s Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Clark Duke and Dirty Sexy Money’s Chloe Moretz.
Having not read Kick-Ass in book form, I am relatively ambivalent to this ...

A reader sent in the pics from the Toronto set, commenting on his experience as follows: “Coming back from a Jays game happen to catch what appeared to be 2nd Unit for Kick-Ass. In Toronto, shooting on Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass adaptation has begun, and here's the first shot to emerge from the set. Over at /Film, they have a couple more, along with some of the comic panels this scene is based on. You'll be astounded at how accurately a real-life bird man crashing onto the top of a car recreates a drawing of a bird man crashing onto the top of a car.
