So there you have it. So, unless a miracle happens, which they do sometimes, it looks like we will not have the talented Jon Favreau directing THE AVENGERS. How does that make you feel? I personally feel a bit uneasy and unsure. I hope they able to find someone who respects the material and gives the comics justice in the adaptation.

He did however, state that he will remain involved on the project as a producer. Additionally, Favreau confirmed that Edward Norton will NOT be returning as the Incredible Hulk in the AVENGERS movies, despite recent ambiguous comments from Norton regarding his fondness of the character being an adversary to the Avengers.
