... Francis Lawrence is set to reteam with his " Constantine " and " I Am Legend " producing buddy Akiva Goldsman for an adaptation of the young adult graphic novel " In The Small ." The concept is actually pretty cool (though we'll have to wait to see what kind of havoc the creative genius Goldsman wreaks on it), as it follows "a strange explosion that leaves all humans six inches tall, yet nothing else is affected. Those who survive the transition are forced to create a new social order and adjust in a world where man is no longer at the top of the food chain. As they ...
Francis Lawrence to Shrink Down for In the Small

... The project has been hanging out at Warner Bros. for a while where Akiva Goldsman (gulp) has already taken a pass at the script. Pajiba are now reporting that Lawrence is adding it to his little pile of going concerns. He’s definitely got the experience in doing out-of-phase renderings of our world, including New York, so I can see how he might have gone down well in a pitch meeting for this project. ...

[image] Since I AM LEGEND, director Francis Lawrence has been juggling a few potential projects, including SGT. ROCK, a kung fu SNOW WHITE, an adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's SURVIVOR, and a follow-up to the Will Smith blockbuster. Now according to Pajiba , he's also developing a movie based on Michael Hague's graphic novel IN THE SMALL. The ...

... we saw all we needed to see during flashbacks," it's "I Am Legend." Christ, any mention of this project just irks me. Oh, and "Constantine" is underrated. I'd much rather see a sequel to that. As for "In the Small": I really have no thoughts one way or the other. Could be cheese, could be OK. Could be played for comedy or laughs or a mixture. I guess it's too ambiguous right now to really call. I will say, however, that "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" is awesome. Source: Pajiba

Francis Lawrence to Adapt Graphic Novel In The Small?
Film Junk —
... According to Pajiba, the project would reteam Lawrence with Constantine and I Am Legend producer Akiva Goldsman, whose Weed Road Pictures picked up the rights a couple of years ago. The premise sounds kind of cool: a mysterious “blue flash” leaves all of the human race shrunk down to just six inches tall. A brother and sister lead two factions as they struggle to survive, find out what happened, and maintain some form of civilization. The story is intended for young adults and sounds a bit like The Incredible Shrinking Man meets ...
