The scoop lords over at IESB have let us in on some saucy news! It appears capitalist commander Sanchez has found out that Daniel Craig turned down the role of Thor! Peep this !!
IESB asked if Craig was interested in doing something a little different character-wise, like Thor? Craig said no, he turned it down and laughed about it.
Sanchez continued, “seriously, I heard the folks over at Marvel had you on a short list to be Thor.”

Merrick here... During a recent discussion about QUANTUM OF SOALCE, IESB spoke to Daniel Craig about being on the short list of actors to play the title character in THOR. Craig said yes they [Marvel] did approach him but he turned it down. ...says THIS PIECE at IESB, which goes on to reveal more details about Craig's decision. To the best of our knowledge, no director has been officially selected for THOR, although Kenneth Branagh is known to be attached & has evidently been reworking his schedule to accommodate this project.

When it was revealed that Kenneth Branagh was in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of Thor, many people wondered what a Branagh superhero movie would be like. Now we have some idea. IESB is reporting that Marvel actually offered the lead role to Daniel Craig, but the Quantum of Solace star confirmed that he actually turned down the role.
I know this is a bit of “non-news”, but I think it shows the direction that Marvel wants to take their mythical superhero franchise. I don’t know about you guys but I can’t even imagine Craig with long hair ...
