I don't know if this is any kind of approved one-sheet from Summit Entertainment, but it's very good in conveying the tension vibe that dominates Kathryn Bigelow's film from start to finish. A marketing friend told me he doesn't think...

The Hurt Locker Movie Poster
/Film — “Guess the only Iraq War film to hit it big” is a game show that never ends, and the current front runner is The Hurt Locker from director Kathryn Bigelow. Jeff Wells has a pretty cool leaked one-sheet for the wartime thriller, opening 2009, and he compares the movie—which has been widely praised at festivals like TIFF for its intense action sequences and dutiful hard knock vibe—to James Cameron’s Aliens. As hinted at by the poster’s dirty ...

New Poster for The Hurt Locker Conveys Some Urgency
Film School Rejects — As Jeff Wells points out in the blog post introducing the poster to the right, it is hard to say whether or not this is an approved one-sheet for Kathryn Bigelow’s Iraq War drama The Hurt Locker, but it certainly gets its point across. Wells is among a group of journalists that have been very supportive of the film since it debuted at the Toronto Film Fest this past August, saying that it sets itself apart from many of the other Iraq war dramas of recent years by establishing itself as an action movie above all else. ...

Great Poster for Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker
FirstShowing.net — ... There is one movie I kept missing up in Toronto called The Hurt Locker, an Iraq War movie about an elite Army bomb squad. So why should you care about yet another Iraq movie? Well this one is supposedly one of the best movies set in that part of the world. Jeffrey Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere has got his hands on some sort of brand new poster for the film and I agree with him - it looks great. It's a simple visual marketing gimmick but it works. And maybe this kind of marketing will actually help this gain some buzz, because right now it has ...

‘The Hurt Locker’ Gets a Painfully Sweet Poster
We Are Movie Geeks — ... in Iraq and has an awesome cast including Jeremy Renner, Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes and David Morse.  Hopefully this will break the streak of disappointing films about the Iraq war. The poster is cool and innovative.  It’s not just a Photoshop cut-and-paste job of the actors’ heads over a desert or a bombed out city.  I’m sure there’ll be another poster before the film’s release to brag about the cast, but this works just fine.
