... “Our picture is a cosmic epic, a hymn to life.” So, you know, really understated. The film follows the O’Brien family, with Brad Pitt as Mr. O’Brien and Jessica Chastain as Mrs. O’Brien. Starting in the 1950s, the O’Briens have three young sons, and the film is said to be set around oldest son Jack (Hunter McCracken). As young Jack grows, the film also features Sean Penn as grown up Jack, and we see how the loss of innocence in Jack’s childhood impacts his adult life.
