Danny Boyle, who created the series of London-based viral epidemic films 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, told a group of journalists that not only could there be a third film but also that he might direct it. Boyle directed 28 Days but produced 28 Weeks for director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

Ain't It Cool News - The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news. —
Merrick here... In early October, reports from the Stiges International Film Festival said that Paul Andrew Willams (THE COTTAGE, LONDON TO BRIGHTON) would direct 28 MONTHS LATER - a second sequel to 28 DAYS LATER. This report came to us from Arrow in the Head, via JoBlo. You can find a report about it HERE . Turns out, this may nt necessarily be the case. Danny Boyle, director of 28 DAYS LATER and producer of its first sequel, has expressed interest in directing a third installment of the plaguey franchise. "I'd certainly like to," Boyle said in a group interview on Nov. 6 in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he was promoting his latest ...
Another 28 Days Later or 28 Weeks

Virus / Zombie sequels 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later might see another chapter. Creator Danny Boyle hinted at a third film and the fact the he wants to direct it. According to SCI-FI Boyle has a premise but hasn't started scripting it so he doesn't want to reveal anything. "There is an idea for a third part, but I haven't really done enough about it yet," he said. "But I've got an idea for it, so I can't really tell you any more than that at the moment, but hopefully that might happen,"
Danny Boyle Might Potentially Be Interested in Directing “28 Months Later.” Maybe.

Last month, we reported that Paul Andrew Williams had been mentioned as a possibility to direct 28 Months Later, the sequel to the Fresnadillo-helmed 28 Weeks Later, which was the second part in the 28 saga. Now comes word from scifi.com [via AICN] that Danny Boyle, the director of 28 Days Later and of the upcoming Slumdog Millionaire (my favorite film of the year so far) might be interested in directing the 28 Months. At a group interview in Beverly Hills, CA, ...
Danny Boyle Says He Could Direct '28 Months Later'... Again...

Danny Boyle will direct "28 Months Later," Danny Boyle won't direct "28 Months Later." It seems like it changes every few months. In 2007, Boyle told MTV that yes, he really thought directing the film would be a possibility. Then he said the same in September of this year. Then in October, it looked like Boyle would again hand over the reigns to another director like his did with, "28 Weeks Later," and just deliver the idea and executive-produce again. Now's he's saying ...
Danny Boyle Considers Directing '28 Months Later'
Cinematical —
Filed under: Horror, Awards, Scripts, Oscar WatchFirst, the obligatory Slumdog Millionaire endorsement. I saw it in Telluride, for which I am now grateful, but at the time I cursed the fates. Why? Because I couldn't buy another ticket and go see it again then and there. It opens tomorrow, November 12th, in a bunch of cities, and will trickle on out from there. It's rousing, and wonderful, and I can pretty much guarantee you'll love it. The feel-frickin'-awesome movie of the year was directed by Danny Boyle, whose Millions hinted at his capacity for big-hearted fairy tales, ...
