Foster, Sutherland Cast In "Mechanic"

Ben Foster and Donald Sutherland are set to co-star in the remake of "The Mechanic" for Variety.
Foster plays a young man who becomes an apprentice to a hitman (Jason Statham). Sutherland will play the role of Foster's father and Statham's handler.
Simon West is set to direct the project which begins filming in several weeks in New Orleans.

The remake of the Charles Bronson hitman film, THE MECHANIC, is getting a double dose of blonde intensity. The Jason Statham-starring project has just added Ben Foster and Kiefer Sutherland to its cast.
Foster, who can currently be seen in the horror film PANDORUM and soon as the lead in the upcoming drama THE MESSENGER, will be playing Steve McKenna, a hired killer in training that is being taught by Statham’s character. Sutherland is set to play Statham’s sort of boss and Steve’s father, Harry McKenna.
