I am – Hercules!! Barry Sonnenfeld, director of the “Men In Black” movies, will make a return to extraterrestrial comedy with “The How-To Guide for Saving the World,” about an unlikely hero who finds himself trying to employ the titular manual. The script is by somebody named BenDavid Grabinski, who may or may not be familiar with "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Sonnenfeld’s last big-screen directorial effort was 2006’s Robin Williams vehicle “RV,” written by Geoff Rodkey (“Daddy Day Care,” “Daddy Day Camp,” “The Shaggy Dog”). Variety reports that Barry Sonnenfeld has signed on to direct The How-to Guide for Saving the Earth. BenDavid Grabinski wrote the script.

Barry Sonnenfeld knows how to save 'World'

Barry Sonnenfeld has signed on to direct "The How-To Guide for Saving the World," an action comedy written by BenDavid Grabinski.
According to Variety, the film follows a man and a woman who find a special guide to save the world and must use it to prevent an imminent alien attack that could destroy the entire planet.
Sonnenfeld's last big-screen effort was 2006's disappointing comedy "RV." His credits also include "Get Shorty," "The Addams Family" and the two "Men in Black" films.
Recently, Sonnenfeld directed several episodes for "Pushing Daisies" and "Notes from the Underbelly."
