Comic Con Updates: Avatar, Mystery Team, Repo, Pandorum, Extract and 9
/Film —
ComingSoon has posted a photo (right) of one of the banners on display outside the San Diego Convention Center, promoting James Cameron’s Avatar. The image shows a close-up of one of the ten foot blue tribal alien creatures called Na’vi. Warner Bros’ panel announcement included confirmation that Hall H will be set-up to screen 3D footage, which pretty much gaurentees that Fox will present footage from Avatar in 3D. I’m guessing that the same footage that premiered in Amsterdam at the cinema expo will be screened.
You’ve heard the buzz online, ...

FirstShowing.net —
Comic-Con is still another three weeks out, but Fox is already starting to build buzz for James Cameron's Avatar. Avatar Comic-Con Banner Revealed
Screen Rant —
James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster Avatar is one of many films that will most likely have a huge presence at this year’s 2009 San Diego Comic-Con.
Thanks to Coming Soon (and IESB), we have a first look at the banner for Avatar, which is already hanging up in San Diego, three weeks in advance of the convention. Unfortunately, it’s only a snapshot instead of an officially released (read: high quality) image, but it’s definitely better to get somewhat of a look than no look at all! Check it out ...

I Watch Stuff - The Best Movie News Ever —
Put on your 3-D glasses (everything James Cameron does is in 3-D now) and behold the sparkly, blue face of one of the aliens in Avatar. New Comic-Con Avatar Banner Revealed
Latino Review —
I swear to God, this movie had better be the best fucking movie in cinema history because I'm already sick of the hype. Comingsoon has a couple of looks at the new banner that's on display at Comic-Con for James Cameron's Avatar. A movie so shrouded in secrecy I wonder if even Fox executives know what it's about. I do know that footage of Avatar is supposed to be shown at Hall H this year. Problem is, since that screen is so big, I wonder how the 3-D will look. They better hope it looks awesome, because a lot seems to be riding on this film. I don't know what, it's not like Fox will collapse if the movie fails, but Cameron ...
New Avatar image released
Total Film News —
As the Avatar release date creeps ever closer, we’re getting more and more looks at the movie. The latest might not be as exciting as the footage screened in Amsterdam, but it’s probably more thrilling for what it represents than what it is. The San Diego Comic Con is always sponsored by one big film, and this year it’s Avatar. To celebrate, the banners that hang from the city’s street lamps feature one of the Na’vi (if we had to guess, we’d say Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri. And while it’s not the best look at her, it signifies that Avatar ...
Comic Con Banner for James Cameron's 'Avatar'
Get The Big Picture —
It doesn't take much to get Team Avatar super
excited. Last week, you'll recall, people who were merely fans of the idea of James
Cameron's new 3-D film were completely stoked to read the
Tweets of likeminded people who saw a few minutes of footage from the
movie in Amsterdam. I submit to you that it could've been 24 minutes of still photos of a bundt cake and
if it said James Cameron on it, there would have been some ecstatic Twitter updates.
But we'll all get to see it in some form sooner or later, and if this new ...

Rumor has it that Jessica Biel is in talks to join Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" in a role noted only as a 'love interest.' Previously, Natalie Portman had also been linked to one of three significant female roles from the canon potentially in the film adaptation. [NukeTheFridge] Michel Gondry's "The Green Hornet" starring Seth Rogen and Stephen Chow has had it's release pushed back two weeks to July 9th, 2010. The film is of course scribed by Rogen and writing partner ...
