Tokyo Game Show 2008 Street Fighter Movie Poster
Latino Review —
... movie. This poster shows Kristin in what appears to be her Chun-Li outfit. Actually, it's kind of a shitty website. It only shows part of her face and really nothing important, like her ass or boobs. You know, things guy gamers might think would be important to see when wanting to watch a movie starring an almost Asian as one of their favorite video game characters. ... be surprised if this project never even makes it to wide release. I could be wrong on that… I’m just saying I wouldn’t be surprised.
Anyway, the good folks over at MovieWeb have pointed out that the official Japanese website for the film has now quasi-lanuched (I’ll never understand why studios launch websites that don’t have anything on them yet… but that’s a topic for another post) as well as the first poster.

... Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li’. The movie’s official site has also opened its doors.
The film is set for a February 27, 2009 release and stars Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Neal McDonough, Taboo, Chris Klein, Moon Bloodgood, Edmund Chen, Cheng Pei Pei, Josie Ho and Robin Shou.
Kreuk looks perfect for the part, and I’m sure that poster is just the first of many “character” posters that will be released.

... To visit the utterly boring website for the film, head over to streetfighter-movie.gyao.jp or just click the poster below. And other than that, you're more than welcome to look at this painfully ugly poster. Is it me or did they really try and make Canadian actress Kristin Kreuk look a bit too much like Chun-Li, who is of Chinese decent? Oh well, I guess that's what you get when Hollywood tinkers with a foreign franchise! ...

... Raul Julia. Maybe they're saving him for the full trailer... The production value is much better than I expected and who knows? Could be fun, right? Below is the email we got with the link. Check it out! Harry, I realize I'm one of maybe five people actually looking forward to this flick, but after FINALLY seeing some moving footage from this thing, I can at least comfortably say it doesn't look nearly as stupefyingly bad as Dragonball. ... the Western actors are going to handle the fighting moments, although I have heard that the stars have been undergoing a fair amount of training for their roles. Looking at the clips of the fight scenes in the trailer I do think that they might have managed to get the balance just right, they do feel that they are impressive without being over the top, and have a very Eastern feel to them. Lost In Translation: The Japanese “Street Fighter” Trailer

The Japanese trailer for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li has gone up on the official website, which you can watch here. I’d say it actually looks kind of alright, but that may just be because I can’t understand a word anyone’s saying. Either way, I am pretty sure it’s twice as cool as the Dragonball Evolution trailer, but if I remember my elementary school math correctly, multiplying by zero doesn’t really work.
